About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Deals Strategy Partner to set and execute the vision for our Deals Commercial & Operations practice, ensuring alignment with the firm’s long-term goals. This senior leadership role combines strategic insight with execution excellence, positioning the firm as a market leader in deal strategy and value creation.

You will maintain trusted relationships with investors, boards, and management teams, sponsor high-impact engagements, and mentor senior leaders while driving collaboration across service lines to deliver integrated transaction support.

What you’ll do

  • Set and execute the vision and strategy for the M&A Commercial & Operations practice, ensuring alignment with the firm’s long-term goals.
  • Define engagement hypotheses and analysis linking deal rationale to operational value drivers.
  • Challenge synergy, stranded-cost, and business-plan assumptions to ensure analytical rigour and strategic relevance.
  • Design carve-out, stand-up, and integration programs, establishing PMO governance and Day 1 / Day 2 readiness frameworks.
  • Guide senior client discussions and workshops, translating insights into board-level recommendations.
  • Build and nurture senior relationships with investors, C-suites, and deal teams.
  • Coach Managers and Senior Managers, fostering commercial judgement and delivery excellence.
  • Drive practice development initiatives — tools, frameworks, and thought leadership.
  • Lead origination and client-development efforts by identifying new opportunities and driving proposal strategy.
  • Collaborate across service lines to support integrated transactions advisory.
  • Maintain trusted relationships with investors, boards, and management teams.
  • Drive engagement quality and client satisfaction across all projects.
  • Sponsor high-impact engagements in commercial diligence and value creation.
  • Mentor Directors and Senior Managers to develop leadership and execution excellence.
  • Promote collaboration across the firm’s service lines to deliver end-to-end transaction support.
  • Represent the firm in the market as a thought leader in deal strategy and execution.

What we’re looking for

  • Extensive experience in M&A strategy, commercial due diligence, and operational value creation at Partner (or equivalent) level in a Big 4, Advisory or Consulting firm.
  • Proven ability to define and execute strategic growth initiatives within a leading advisory or consulting environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Recognised market presence and thought leadership in deal strategy.
  • Track record in revenue generation and ability to identify market opportunities.
  • Professional qualifications (CA, CPA, CFA, or MBA) highly regarded.
